NRT

I just got back from NRT and thought I'd share where I went...somewhere different from AEON MALL. ITO YOKADO. It is a fairly sized "department store" complete with a food court and market downstairs in the basement. HUGE 100¥ store too!!! It takes up half a floor!

I wish I had taken more pictures so you get an idea...
For you DISNEY fans, there is a DISNEY store on the main floor.
So how do you get here?
Take the bus from the hotel to "downtown". Walk up to the train station. You want to catch the KEISEI train. You will pay 130Y for your ticket.

You are one stop away. KOZUNOMORI is the station you want...walk up to platforms 1 or 2 heading to UENO. (When you are walking twds the platform downstairs, you will see which stops the next train is heading for. The station names are lit. But I notice that if I go onto platform 1 or 2 it usually takes me there. And if it DOES pass KOZUNOMORI then get off at next station and backtrack)

Exit the station when you reach KOZUNOMORI.

Don't worry there is only ONE exit. Walk off to the right out the station and you will see this huge structure.

YOU MADE IT!
BASEMENT - food court (beard papa, tonkatsu, ramen, etc) and grocery store.
1st floor - shoes, bags, clothing, disney store
2nd floor - home, kids, toys, fabric
3rd floor - books, eyeglass, amusment, 100¥ store

Return trip is the same. 130Y. One stop away. NARITA station is where you came from.
Have fun! I sure did! :)

OGG

OUR VERY FIRST POST~
OGG MC
submitted by ct sfo

"I can't tell you what to eat but I will tell you what not to eat! That spices restaurant at the hotel is yucks! I had a stir fry with chicken. The stir fry was soupy. There was so much sauce. The sauce was tasty though. The rice was in the soupy sauce so it was all soppy. Yuck. The worst part was the chicken was just grilled and placed on the veggies. It wasn't flavored or stir fried in. I also ordered zucchini chips. That was meh. Nothing fabulous. It was soggy. I don't even think if it wasn't soggy it would've tasted good. I'll give this place 2 out of 5 stars. I only went because I was desperate. Got in at around 10pm and didn't want to walk anywhere else.

I really do like the Tommy Bahama restaurant at the wailea shops. The hotel van can take you and drop you off. Just give them a tip. Everything I order there is good. A little on the pricey side. The sweet cinnamon butter they give with the bread is weird. I don't like sweet butter at lunch. I always just ask for regular butter.

Sansei is awesome. Happy hour on fri/sat nights from 11pm-2am. Gotta try the truffle/crab ramen. It is to die for! Miso butterfish is yum and the rock shrimp dynamite. Baked sushi roll is good too!"

Pointers and suggestions

Hey folks I decided to start this "blog" of sorts for all you NON SLAM CLICKERS!
What to do on your layover?! Who offers discounts?? What is there to do/eat??
I decided to keep the f/as name anonymous just their company code and their initials. Just to keep their privacy. I will also initial the name of the hotel and if it is the field or long l/o.

So please do comment, send your suggestions...we shall see how this goes. How long it will keep up and if it does maybe invest in an actual website!!!

PLEASE email me: creweats(at)gmail(dot)com
if you have comments, suggestions or INFO about your recent layover!
Thank you!!!!
